How the JE24 service works
From reporting an issue to having the work finished and documented: here is the JE24 process.
The process step by step
- 1
1. Reporting the issue
We gather details of the problem, the area, and photos or video of the current state where possible.
- 2
2. Prior assessment
Using that information, or after a visit, the scope of work is assessed and explained before anything begins.
- 3
3. Carrying out the work
The agreed work is carried out, with any relevant changes from the original plan explained as they arise.
- 4
4. Sign-off and documentation
What was done and the terms agreed are confirmed in writing.
What information helps when reporting a fault
- The type of issue (leak, power cut, blockage, breakage, etc.).
- The exact address or town and how to access the property.
- How long the problem has been noticed.
- Whether it affects a home, a community or a business.
- Photos or video where possible, plus contact details to coordinate the visit.
What happens once on site
On arrival the issue is checked, the initial diagnosis is confirmed, and the necessary work is explained, including whether extra materials or a second visit are required. Wherever possible, you are told before any chargeable work goes ahead.
Estimates and documentation
For planned work, an assessment is carried out before a date is set. The specific terms — scope, timing and payment — are agreed on a case-by-case basis and confirmed in writing, since fixed rates are not published at this stage.
